One of our members, Bill Brinkley, has for sale, several official WWII films featuring LCIs in action. These are incredible to watch. One of our members, Kim Kromer, actually saw his father, Ernest Kromer, LCI 1016 in the engine room on one of these tapes.
Speaking as the son of an LCI veteran, I found watching the training tape to be an incredible experience. More incredible is the fact that my father Karl Bischoff, LCI 489, also served on LSM 60, featured in tape number 5! I also found it touching to realize that the men buried at sea in tape 2 and 6 are featured in our LCI Memorial Page.

Also includes film footage of the UNITED NEWS, a news service used during WW II by the government to send to the theaters combat films of the invasions. Time 1 hour and 26 minutes.

This tape shows the first invasion by the LSMs in the Philippines and continue through the war and then the LSM 60, that participated in the BIKINI BOMB TEST in 1946, Time 1 hour 30 minutes.

All the footage in this tape was produced on board the NEVADA by combat camera men. The invasions at IWO-JIMA and OKINAWA, see the Jap suicide plane before it hits the NEVADA, Burial at sea of the crew members of the NEVADA and LCI (G)-441. The NEVADA was painted red for the BIKINI ATOMIC BOMB TEST, then see the NAVY planes finally sink the NEVADA off HAWII in 1948. Time 1 hour 45 minutes.
